I sure hope there are no bailouts. The tax breaks or support extended to the community utilities to support the infrastructure buildouts will be problematic enough.
I do not see getting around that, but that may not be all that large.
I still see the data centers in peoples backyards as being similar to communities that felt they needed to have a sports stadium and they bent over backwards, only to be held captive by a team that did not care about the sponsoring community.

I want to understand how this pattern of deal making is necessarily different from previous ones, for example how businesses moved money between themselves and a handful of cloud service providers. Maybe everything to do with AI is getting more scrutiny than it deserves, especially with trying to pass AI state laws moratorium. You can’t know what might be better or worse unless you let states experiment and find by creating their own set of laws.
