The Irish have been selling the EU short by proving US companies the legal mechanisms to avoid taxes. In exchange for that, they got to have the highest GDP per capita in the world if you exclude bullshit countries like Monaco (go check, it's wild).
I don't really empathize if they're the victims this time around.
